Leagues, as you communicate to voters during these very different times, use these talking points to guide your messaging. Keep in mind that voters are not the right audience for messages about when and how elections should take place – keep your message to voters positive and informative.
- PRO-VOTE MESSAGE: Your voice is more important than ever before – there are options for you to participate in elections safely.
- Request your absentee ballot or mail-ballot early! Find your state’s deadline and process for doing so at VOTE411.org.
- For voters who need to vote in-person, you can limit your exposure by avoiding peak hours at polling places. Peak times are traditionally before and after work hours as well lunchtime.
- Vote early if you can! Early voting days are less likely to be busy at the polls. And voting early reduces crowds on Election Day.
- Your state may be experiencing polling place closures or relocations. Check VOTE411 for the most up-to-date information about where you can vote or where you can drop your ballot.
- If you do choose to vote at an in-person polling place, consider a few of these tips to reduce your own exposure:
- Maintain 3 to 6 feet of distance from other people
- Bring along your own hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily – wear gloves if possible
- Report any election problems by calling:
- 1-866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)
- 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA (Spanish)
- 1-888-API-VOTE (multiple Asian languages)
- 1-844-YALLA-US (Arabic)
